Tribal elders enjoy an afternoon of games, prizes and food on the Fort Berthold Reservation
All’s well that ends well. This year, the good news is that the Kyi-Yo student organization tallied all the ballots for the 2010 contest at the Adams Center over the weekend. They now have a complete listing of all the winners of the powwow and they have money to pay for the prizes. To recap, the students were short more than half the money they owed to contestants through their own lack of fundraising and because University of Montana administrators didn’t contribute to the powwow as they had done in the past. The UM has since agreed to pay the balance owed to all dancers.
