Harvard panel to examine press freedom in Native America

The Nieman Foundation and Indigenous Media Freedom Alliance will host an event on journalism in Indian Country on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Lippmann House.

Attendees will watch "Bad Press," a Sundance-winning documentary about the fight for an independent press in the Muscogee Nation.

Nieman Fellow Graham Lee Brewer will moderate a panel on freedom of information. It features our own Buffalo's Fire Staff Reporter Shaun Griswold and Founder and Publisher Jodi Rave Spotted Bear, alongside Chris Mercier, vice chairman of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
