Elders in Residence program will feature hands-on art instruction and a community meal

Racing Magpie to host paper quilling workshop with Dwayne Wilcox

Racing Magpie will host a paper quilling workshop from noon to 3 p.m. on June 20, according to information shared by the organization. Elders in Residence Dollie Red Elk and Marlyce Miner will join participants for the event, which will teach the art of paper quilling under the instruction of Dwayne Wilcox.

According to Racing Magpie, dinner provided by Connie Hopkins will be served at noon, with the workshop beginning shortly afterward. The event is part of the organization's Elders in Residence program and is open to community members interested in learning the paper art technique. Organizers encouraged participants to attend the workshop and learn directly from Wilcox alongside the program's resident elders.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we exist to illuminate tribal government decision-making for everyone who cares about transparency about Native issues. Our work bridges the gap left by tribe-controlled media and non-Native, extractive journalism, providing the insights necessary for informed choices and a better quality of life.
