Sacred Pipe Resource Center To Host Hair Braiding Contests June 17
Event will feature four braid competitions with cash prizes and categories for both youth and adult participants.

The Sacred Pipe Resource Center will host a hair braiding event June 17, 2026, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 925 Basin Ave., Suite #2, according to event information provided by the organization. The event will feature several contests highlighting traditional and contemporary braid styles.
Contest categories include Best Braids, Fastest Braiding, Thickest Braid and Hardest Luck Braid. Best Braids will award prizes of $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. Fastest Braiding will award $100 for first place and $50 for second. According to the event announcement, contestants in the Thickest Braid and Hardest Luck Braid categories will compete for $50 prizes. Those two contests are open to adults ages 18 and older, while the remaining contests are open to all ages. For more information, attendees may call 663-3886 or email native@sacredpipe.net.
