Sacred Pipe Resource Center plans summer BBQ kickoff for Native youth

Sacred Pipe Resource Center will host a “Leave The Couch Summer BBQ Kickoff Event” for Native youth from 1 to 3 p.m. June 3 at Shelter No. 10 in Sertoma Park, according to an event flyer released by the organization.

The event will include food, yard games, volleyball and cultural teachings led by Wind Spirit Spotted Bear, according to Sacred Pipe Resource Center. Organizers said the gathering is intended to bring community members together to “kick off the summer with fun, connection, and culture.” The organization asked attendees to register in advance so organizers can plan for food and refreshments. Registration information is available at www.sacredpipe.net.
