Sacred Pipe Resource Center To Host Youth Tipi Raising Workshop
Hands-on event will combine traditional tipi raising with discussions about housing and life skills for youth

The Sacred Pipe Resource Center will host its "Leave the Couch: Tipi Raising" event for youth on July 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Shelter No. 3 in Sertoma Park, according to the event announcement. The workshop will feature a hands-on tipi raising experience led by Wind Spirit Spotted Bear and will include cultural teachings.
The event also will include Housing 101 lessons focused on practical life skills, community and empowerment, according to the announcement. Organizers ask participants to register in advance.
