Victory Run Planned For Battle Of The Little Bighorn 150th Anniversary
Event will bring together Cheyenne, Oceti Sakowin and Arapaho youth for a 45-mile run from Medicine Deer Rocks to the Little Bighorn Battlefield

Blue Bird Lifeways will host the Victory Run on June 25, 2026, marking the 150th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn/Greasy Grass, according to event materials. The 45-mile run will begin at Medicine Deer Rocks and end at the battlefield. Organizers are inviting Cheyenne, Oceti Sakowin and Arapaho youth to participate.
According to the event flyer, a blessing of runners is scheduled for 7 a.m. at Medicine Deer Rock, with the run beginning at 7:30 a.m. Organizers expect participants to arrive at the battlefield by 2 p.m. The event includes the quote, “Let us put our minds together to see what better life we can make for our children,” attributed to Sitting Bull.
