Mandaree farmers market and powwow celebration set for Thursday

The West Segment will host a Mandaree Powwow Celebration and the community's first official farmers market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 17, in the Elders Building parking lot in Mandaree, according to an event flyer. The event will feature fresh and local produce, homemade baked goods, artisan products, vendors and items made in Mandaree.

Market vendors and community members are invited to participate in the event. Polly Chase and Renay Brown are listed as contacts for vendor information. The flyer states the event is intended to showcase homemade goods, artisan products and local vendors.

We provide the independent reporting that non-Native, extractive outlets often overlook. We give our communities the context and the facts they need to make informed decisions.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we exist to illuminate tribal government decision-making for everyone who cares about transparency about Native issues. Because the consequences of restricted press freedom affect our communities every day, our trauma-informed reporting is rooted in a deep, firsthand expertise. Every gift helps keep the fire burning. A monthly contribution makes the biggest impact.
