The FBI is investigating after law enforcement recovered human remains Saturday in Fort Totten, North Dakota, during a family organized search for missing Spirit Lake citizen Isaac Hunt. A press release from the Spirit Lake Tribe said the identity of the remains is not yet known. The gender is also unknown. ”At this time, there is no confirmed connection between the remains and any individual,” the release stated.

Hunt, who was 27 when he went missing, was last seen on March 8, 2024. He disappeared two months after the disappearance of his brother’s girlfriend, Jemini Posey, a Spirit Lake citizen who was last seen on Jan. 5, 2024.

“It’s been hard to continue to ask for support,” Hunt’s aunt, Phyllis DuBois, said in the press release. “We are grateful for everyone who has stood with us, especially today.”

The location of the discovery is not being released to respect those involved and protect details of the investigation.
