Darwin D. Williams to lead MHA Nation, replacing Mark Fox as tribal chairman

Williams won 57% of the vote and five of six MHA Nation segments

November 3, 2026

MHA Nation voters elected Darwin D. Williams as their next chairman.

Williams defeated Fred Fox with 57% of voters' support. He received 1,721 votes to the 1,298 that Fox received.

Williams won five of six MHA Nation segments, losing White Shield 317 to 561 votes.

He will replace Mark Fox as chairman. “It’s about change,” he said to supporters. “I never asked people for a vote, I asked people to vote for someone they think cares. I care. You own this, you showed this today. You can’t make this with money. You take this with your heart and your dedication to your little ones and your elders.”
