Indian Economic Development seeks tourism aid partner

Applicants have until Aug. 28 to seek a five-year, appropriation-dependent award supporting tribal and Native Hawaiian tourism

August 20, 2026

The Office of Indian Economic Development is accepting applications through grants.gov until Aug. 28 for a $1.5 million cooperative agreement under the NATIVE Act, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Interior. Funding is annual, subject to appropriations and can continue for up to five years.

The agreement will provide technical assistance for Tribal Tourism Grant Program and Office of Native Hawaiian Relations applicants.

Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs Billy Kirkland said tribal tourism displays communities’ cultures, histories and traditions while creating jobs and strengthening local economies.
