Judge orders Trump administration to rehire fired federal workers

March 27, 2025

A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to reinstate more than 15,000 probationary federal employees fired in February, after finding the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) lacked authority for the mass terminations. The ruling affects employees at agencies including the Department of the Interior and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The coalition pushing for compliance is urging further legal action.
