Tribal officials break ground for medical clinic in Norman

NORMAN – Officials with the Chickasaw Nation say a new medical clinic and pharmacy to be built adjacent to Riverwind Casino will serve both registered tribal members and the general public.

A groundbreaking ceremony Thursday marked the beginning of construction of a 13,700-square-foot family care clinic, pharmacy and gift shop at 2080 State Highway 9 W.

Increased employee numbers in the region and success of a recent clinic opened in Ada have led to an increased opportunity to provide health care services for those living in Cleveland County, said Chris Anoatubby, who serves as chief medical solutions officer for the commerce division of the Chickasaw Nation.

“We have quickly learned offering convenient access to a high-quality health care clinic and pharmacy services is valued highly among our employees, both native and non-native, who are in search of primary health care services,” Anoatubby said in a news release.

The new medical clinic takes the Chickasaw Nation’s ability to serve one step further as it also will provide convenient health care for anyone living in the Norman, Purcell and Blanchard areas, Anoatubby said.

Clinic services will include medical care and laboratory and radiology capabilities.Read more on NewsOK.com
