The Native Science Field Centers (NSFC) offer year-round environmental science field programs that integrate traditional ways of knowing, Native language and Western science methods.
Three Native Science Field Centers are working with youth, including one on the Blackfeet Reservation in collaboration with Blackfeet Community College, one on the Wind River Reservation in collaboration with Fremont County School District No. 21, and one on the Pine Ridge Reservation in collaboration with Oglala Lakota College. A local director and Community Advisory Board administer each Center.
The NSFCs engage youth and adults in outdoor science and cultural programs to encourage their long-term involvement with their environment.
The NSFCs are made possible with generous support from the National Science Foundation and the Bush Foundation.

See the journalist pageFor everyone who cares about transparency in Native affairs: We exist to illuminate tribal government. Our work bridges the gap left by tribal-controlled media and non-Native, extractive journalism, providing the insights necessary for truly informed decision-making and a better quality of life. Because the consequences of restricted press freedom affect our communities every day, our trauma-informed reporting is rooted in a deep, firsthand expertise.
