As of today, the National Congress of American Indians elected a new president to be the figurehead for the largest Native advocacy organization in the United States. Jefferson Keel of Oklahoma won the presidency election today, winning over his competitor Crow Tribal Chairman Cedric Black Eagle. The NCAI is holding its annual convention in Palm Springs, Calif., which ends Friday.
