2021 Native American Journalism Fellowship application open through April 30

NAJF NAJF
The Native American Journalists Association (NAJA) is now accepting applications for the 2021 Native American Journalism Fellowship through April 30. Selected fellows will build their reporting skills during an on-site newsroom experience during the 2021 National Native Media Conference set for Sept. 16-18 (see below for newsroom dates) in Phoenix, Arizona.
In partnership with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, NAJA will facilitate a conference program featuring best practices in Indigenous media, training and workshops to support and enhance the knowledge and skills of journalists covering Indian Country. Fellows will be encouraged to report on relevant program content and explore deeper coverage post-conference in order to complete their fellowship requirements.

Attendance during all days of the NAJF Student Newsroom Sept. 13-19 is mandatory for all fellows, and the NAJA Education Committee will continue to evaluate COVID-19 travel logistics and announce updates as conditions warrant.
