The energy boom has helped push North Dakota ahead of Minnesota when it comes to disposable income.

Even South Dakota, which has benefited little from the discovery of oil and gas deposits over the last few years, has passed Minnesota, according to a new study of U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis numbers.
