As a large crowd looked on, Greg and Travis Schuyler danced in small circles on a field in Nankin Mills Park in Westland on Saturday. The performance, a grass dance done in advance of powwows to give those participating a flat ground on which to gather since native grasses of the Great Plains were often knee or waist high, was part of the ninth annual Native American Heritage Day festival.read more
